Collinger Named Direct Marketer of the Year

St. Louis, MO, November 30, 2007 - On November 16, 2007, the president of the Direct Marketing Association of St. Louis announced to a group of supportive Direct Marketing Association members gathered for the 2007 Direct Marketing Association of St. Louis Conference the winner of the 2006 Direct Marketer of the Year award. This year’s award was bestowed on William “Bill” Collinger of Collinger & Associates. In conferring this prestigious award, Maurice Parisien, president of the DMA - St. Louis stated: “Although there were a number of nominations submitted, no one could begin to measure up to the contributions made by Bill Collinger in this past year.” Parisien went on to say: “Bill was first recognized with this honor back in 1986. So by honoring him with this year’s award, he becomes the first honoree to ever receive the Direct Marketer of the Year award twice in its 21 year history, an incredible achievement.”

In citing the reasons for honoring Bill Collinger this year, Mr. Parisien noted 3 key accomplishments:

  • Bill Collinger was the driving force behind the formation of the the domestic echo ambassadors for the DMA’s ECHO Awards program that was just formally introduced this year.
  • He led the charge to form the DMA Affiliate Network of 22 local DMA clubs from across the country all in support of the national DMA’s new strategic direction to build a deep political grassroots network at the local level to enhance the lobbying strength for all direct marketers.
  • He worked closely with the DMA-St. Louis’ new incoming president of its Board of Directors, and was instrumental in laying the foundation to reshape and rebuild membership of the DMA - St. Louis.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Collinger cited his passion for the direct marketing industry and how far that it has come since the early days when he became involved in the practice of direct marketing. Bill gave special thanks to his friends, family and fellow direct marketing vendors and practitioners for their support of his efforts over the years.
